Race Team

Fortin Racing has been taking on the deserts of the world for over 30 years in there own in house designed and built Race cars. From the World Cup Rally in the 70's to SCORE and HDRA Championships in the 80's and 90's to overall wins of the Baja 1000 in 1997, 2001 and 2003. Fortin Racing continues to conquer the toughest terrain in the world with state of the art engineered drive train and power steering components designed and developed by Fortin Racing Inc.

Based in San Diego, California Fortin Racing currently campaigns a Pro Buggy and a Pro-2wd Truck in the Traxxas TORC short course off road racing series. The cars are driven by Doug Fortin. With 5 Baja 1000 championships and 2 Baja 500 victories under his belt, and 2 race wins in 2008 Doug and Fortin Racing are looking forward to even more success in the 2009 race season. To date Doug has won 7 out of 8 Pro Buggy races. In 2007 Fortin Racing designed and built an all new ProBuggy for the increasingly popular CORR series. Fortin saw the oppurtunity to introduce new drivetrain, suspension and steering technology in a growing race series. A new FRS4, 4 speed sequential gearbox was developed along with new ultra light 930 CV Rear Hubs. In a partnership with Racer Engineering, 6 chassis were built for the 2008 race season. The second event out on the new car Doug won at Texas Motor Speedway. In 2008 Fortin Racing also won at Chula Vista and Perris Auto Speedway.

Driver Bio

Doug Fortin, 40, El Cajon, CA; Started riding motorcycles in the desert at 4 years of age, began racing go-karts at 10 years of age, at 18 won first major off-road race. Graduated from UCSD, 1995. Over the past 20 years Doug has professionally driven off road Trophy Trucks, Unlimited Class 1 cars, Class 10 cars and CORR ProBuggies. Doug currently owns and runs Fortin Racing, Inc., designers and manufactures of race car drive train and suspension components.
