FORTIN 5SPD H PATTERN

PART # 5SPDH

Fortin Racing developed and converted the first Hewland Transaxle, originally designed for Formula and Indy Car racing, for off-road desert racing in 1971. The Hewland DG 300 with Fortin modifications quickly became the off-road racing industry leader as it allowed unlimited class teams to increase their engine size to 3.2 litre.

In the early 1980’s Fortin Racing began developing the Fortin 5spd. Over the years the Fortin Transaxle continued to evolve to meet the demands of off-road racing, desert rally racing, endurance road course racing and drag racing around the world. This classic design is the foundation under some of our more modern sequentially shifted boxes. Whether you prefer an older style of shifting or class restrictions prohibit sequential shifting, this transaxle stands as a testament to the performance and quality that Fortin Racing is known for.
